Jackie Zubrzycki joined the Colorado Health Institute in September 2017 after 10 years working in education as a journalist, a teacher, and in the nonprofit sector.
In her six years as a reporter, Jackie wrote about various local, state and national issues, but her main focus was K-12 education policy. As a staff writer at Education Week, she covered charter schools, school integration and improvement efforts, urban school districts, curriculum, arts and research. At Chalkbeat, she wrote about the changing education landscape in Denver and helped launch the online news organization’s coverage of K-12 education in Memphis. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic, Pacific Standard, Yes! Magazine and other publications.
She also worked as a teacher in Washington, D.C., and in the National Audubon Society’s environmental education department.
Jackie grew up outside of Philadelphia and holds a B.A. in English from Yale University. You can find her reading, exploring Colorado, and playing music around Denver, her home since 2014.
