Fewer Get Insurance Through Jobs as Insurance Rates Go Up

The Colorado Health Institute published two briefs related to health insurance in early July. Both made appearances in news across the state: 

• The Denver Business Journal discussed CHI's recent report on the decline of employer-sponsored job insurance in a story on new health insurance rates for the state.
• The Denver Post discusses the health insurance rates and job-based insurance and quotes CHI's Joe Hanel in a story on increasing stability in the individual market.
• The Denver Channel used new insurance rates as an opportunity to ask Coloradans whether they believe health care is a right or a commodity. CHI's Joe Hanel suggests that Coloradans need to consider what kinds of expenditures we're talking about when we think about covering health care costs. The Denver Channel also mentions CHI's report on job-based insurance in its article on new health insurance rates. 
• The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel cites CHI's report on health insurance rates.
• The Coloradoan cites CHI's report on job-based insurance and the role of Medicaid expansion in bringing down the uninsured rate in an article about Republican gubernatorial candidate Walker Stapleton.
