Colorado Health Institute Collects Statewide Health Data as National Statistics Are Censored
The Colorado Trust published a story about the history of the Colorado Health Access Survey and its importance during a time when federal data sources are either disappearing or losing credibility.
“We are starting to see that there are, frankly, some scary things happening with datasets and other surveys out there. We’re very committed to publishing and gathering data that captures things like race, ethnicity and gender identity and making that publicly accessible through our website, and in other ways, so the information is available for Coloradans,” Director Suman Mather told The Trust.
Kristi Arellano, Managing Director of Marketing and Communications, and Lindsey Whittington, Data and Analysis Manager, were also quoted in the story.
The Colorado Trust is one of the three original founders of the Colorado Health Institute and is a long-time funder of the Colorado Health Access Survey. This story is part of a series The Trust is publishing to commemorate its 40th anniversary. The profiles highlight projects and organizations The Trust has supported since its founding.
