Hot Issues in Health Care: Registration is Open!

It only happens once every two years, and the 2014 version promises to be bigger and better than ever.

With several new features, CHI’s seventh Hot Issues in Health Care conference promises to be our most inclusive and collaborative to date. Hot Issues is scheduled for Thursday, December 4, and Friday, December 5, at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs. Registration is officially open.

This year’s health policy conference is geared not only toward state legislators, as in the past, but the broader policy community. December 4 is reserved for elected lawmakers and legislative staffers, while a reception and dinner that evening, as well as the conference on Friday, December 5, are open to everyone. This new format will be beneficial to the legislative and non-legislative crowds alike.

CHI is excited to offer an outstanding lineup of experts and expertise in 2014. Attendees will come away with a deeper understanding of the role played by state lawmakers in shaping health policy, the latest insights on pressing health care issues facing Colorado, and the pros and cons of some of the most important topics on the docket for next year.

We will also discuss what makes Colorado such a unique place for efforts toward cooperation and progress. Keynote speeches will be delivered by Sue Urahn of The Pew Charitable Trusts and Stuart Butler, who just moved to the Brookings Institution from The Heritage Foundation. The conference will feature discussion panels, breakout sessions, and opportunities for informal conversation.

This year’s theme is “The Reality of Purple: Navigating Health Policy in Colorado.” Our state’s strong “purple” identity presents valuable opportunities for lawmakers and others to work together to advance smart, data-driven policies.

If you’d like to be part of the conversation, join us at Hot Issues 2014 to talk about where we stand, where we want to go, and how we can get there.

Please make sure to select “Non-Legislative” as your registrant type unless you are a sitting legislator, legislative candidate, or legislative staffer.
