Legislative Roundup #4: What We’re Watching

With the introduction of the long appropriations bill in the House this week, legislators are in the thick of budget discussions. The bill heads to the Senate next week, where legislators will continue their debate over the proposed state budget package.

Our legislative blog next week will provide a detailed breakdown of what this year’s proposed budget will mean for health and health care in Colorado. In the meantime, our team at CHI continues to track the progress and introduction of health-related legislation.  Here are bills that we are watching.

House Bill 14-1257: Performance Audit Health Benefit Exchange

  • This bill would have granted the Office of the State Auditor the authority to conduct a full performance audit of Connect for Health Colorado, the state’s health insurance market. Now, only a limited audit is allowed.
