Susan joined CHI as a senior research analyst in March 2008. In this capacity, Susan designs and conducts research projects involving qualitative and quantitative research methods including statistical modeling and advanced analytic techniques. In addition, she represents CHI in health policy research and analytical projects and participates in developing appropriate responses to emerging safety net system issues by providing expert data analyses, syntheses, forecasts, modeling and data interpretation.
Prior to working at CHI, Susan served as director of quality improvement and informatics for the Colorado Community Managed Care Network. In that role, she developed quality improvement programs and conducted clinical quality and information technology improvement research studies using health center data. The studies were designed to improve access and expand high-quality clinical care to the underserved in Colorado.
Susan earned her bachelor of science degree from Regis University, graduating with honors as vice president of Alpha Sigma Nu, the national Jesuit Honor Society. Following undergraduate studies, she attended Creighton University School of Medicine for three years on a Health Professions Scholarship with the U.S. Army, and then pursued a master of health care administration degree from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She currently is completing her dissertation toward a PhD in clinical science with emphasis on health services research at the University of Colorado Denver.
