Jeff Bontrager joined the Colorado Health Institute as a research analyst in March 2005. In this role, he provides technical expertise and conducts data analyses on a number of projects. In his tenure at CHI, many of Jeff's analyses have focused on health care coverage, Colorado's uninsured populations and program eligibility modeling. He also synthesizes the results of the analyses and produces summaries understandable to a variety of CHI audiences and serves as coordinator of the Safety Net Indicators and Monitoring System.
In his previous position as a data quality manager and project manager at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Jeff coordinated the data collection activities of a number of health services research projects within the Division of Health Care Policy and Research. In 2004, Jeff completed an internship at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in Rockville, Maryland, concentrating on long-term care research.
A native of Colorado, Jeff earned a master of science in public health degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He focused his graduate work on health care policy and health coverage issues. He earned a BA in psychology from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana.
