Comprehensive Portrait of Colorado’s Nursing Workforce

Since 2005, the Colorado Health Institute (CHI) has conducted a number of surveys of the state’s health care workforce, including three of the various nursing professions: registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nurse aides (CNAs). The findings from these three surveys are being synthesized to create an overall picture of practice and training issues related to the nursing workforce in Colorado.

Issues such as education, clinical experiences, job satisfaction, practice setting, salary and future plans will be examined. The synthesis is funded by CHI and The Colorado Trust and will be available in early 2010.
