CHI has completed a study analyzing the factors affecting the cost of health insurance in the Pueblo metropolitan statistical area (MSA) compared to the Greeley and Denver MSAs. This study was mandated by the 2007 legislature which directed the Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI) to oversee an examination of the health insurance cost drivers in Pueblo. The Governor’s Office of Policy and DOI contracted with CHI to conduct the study by analyzing carrier-specific data collected by DOI.

DOI submitted the final report to the legislature on January 15, 2009.
