Description or Purpose
The Colorado Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) is a telephone survey sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to monitor behaviors related to the leading causes of mortality and morbidity.
Case Definition:
A "record" is defined as a randomly selected adult in a household with a telephone who agrees to participate in the survey.

Can I request analysis?
Yes, online analysis can be done through the Colorado Health Information Data Set (CoHID), an interactive Web-based system that provides Colorado-specific health and demographic data from a variety of datasets, including BFRSS. The Colorado BRFSS data are grouped into two-year averages.CDC's Interactive Database from 1995 to 2008 and Interactive Maps from 2002 to 2007 provide BFRSS state-to-state comparisons. In addition to COHID and CDC's interactive databases, custom analysis can be requested by contacting the Colorado BRFSS Coordinator or the health statistics section at CDPHE (303-692-2160).
