The Area Resource File (ARF) is collection of national and county-level health data from more than 50 sources. The ARF database contains statistics on the following categories of health resources: health professions, health training programs, health facilities, utilization and expenditures. It also contains geographic codes and descriptors and information on economic activity and socioeconomic and enviromental characteristics.

Geographic Levels:
FIPS state and county codes, MSA/PMSA metropolitan area codes, Urban/Rural Continuum Code and region codes so that the data can be easily aggregated to higher geographic levels.

Can I request raw data?
Print the order form, fill out the appropriate fields and fax it to 703.352.9024. There is a $500 fee for the ASCII file that requires programming software such as SAS or SPSS and an $800 fee for an Access formatted file.
