This workgroup will develop a public awareness plan for Colorado, ensuring the public is aware of the signs and effects of Alzheimer’s disease. As part of public awareness, prevention and risk management strategies will also be taken into consideration. The group will also address public safety issues, such as wandering. The Senior Alert program in Colorado exists to locate a wandering or lost individual, and the workgroup will make sure the program is effective and suggest ways to increase awareness of this program and other locator programs. The recommendation subject areas from other state plans included in this workgroup are Public awareness, Public safety/law enforcement and Prevention.
