This workgroup will develop recommendations concerning formal services for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease; including a properly trained and educated workforce, regulation and quality assurance of home and community based services, and a look at how Medicaid, Medicare and private pay play into Alzheimer’s disease care financing. Recommendations may include minimum training hours and content for direct care workers, protocols to permit persons with dementia to remain in their current living environment, and evaluations and support of long-term care insurance. The recommendation subject areas from other state plans included in this workgroup are Workforce, HCBS and Medicaid/Private Insurance.
