Anna Furniss joined the Colorado Health Institute (CHI) in March 2008 as a SAS programmer/analyst. She has provided statistical analysis support to various CHI projects and assisted in the development, maintenance and integration of data from various sources into files that can be used by CHI and the health care community to address important issues regarding health policy and practice. She was instrumental in managing the execution of the 2008-09 Colorado Household Survey, administered by CHI on behalf of the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing.

In January 2010, Anna assumed the role of manager for research and analytical services. In this position, she oversees the statistical and analytical support for CHI projects and publications and the management and maintenance of data used at CHI. Throughout the next year, Anna will also manage the data files and provide technical and analytical support for the 2008-09 Colorado Household Survey.

Prior to CHI, Anna worked as a senior biostatistician for Denver Nephrology and as a research analyst for Arbor Research Collaborative for Health and the University of Michigan. She has over seven years of experience in SAS programming and statistical analysis in health care related research. She has a bachelor of science in statistics and a master of science in industrial and applied mathematics from Utah State University.

In her spare time, Anna enjoys playing golf, hiking, biking, snow shoeing, skiing and playing serf to two very spoiled cats. As a native of Idaho, she grew up camping, fishing and horseback riding in the Grand Teton mountain range. She has a deep love of the mountains, nature and her family and enjoys spending as much time with all three as she can.
