More Colorado children getting public health insurance coverage
Significantly more low-income Colorado children are receiving public health insurance benefits than in years past, the Colorado Health Institute (CHI) reports. In 2009, the Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) programs were serving 322,000 Colorado children, an increase from 276,000 a year earlier. At the same time, the number of uninsured Colorado children who were eligible for public health coverage benefits but not receiving them dropped significantly.

Health care reform benefits could be elusive for some Coloradans
Health care reform is designed to bring insurance coverage to uninsured Americans. If recent federal and state reforms were in place today, the number of uninsured Coloradans would be reduced by more than two-thirds, the Colorado Health Institute (CHI) estimates. But two groups of Coloradans will need some special attention if they are to benefit from the reforms.

Project director of Health Insurance Exchange to join Colorado Health Institute
The Colorado Health Institute (CHI) announced today that Joan Henneberry, former executive director of the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF), will join CHI as project director of the health insurance exchange.
